Maria Horn the "Gun Sense Candidate"
I am proud of winning the Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction, awarded to candidates who stand up for gun violence prevention and recognizing gun safety. On average, 96 Americans are killed with guns every day, and for every one who is shot and killed, two more are wounded. Nearly two-thirds of gun deaths are suicides. Gun violence is a public health crisis.
Responsible gun owners know that supporting the Second Amendment goes hand inhand with common-sense solutions to reduce gun violence. I will fight to keep guns out of the hands of felons, domestic abusers and people with dangerous histories. I know that respecting Constitutional rights and protecting people are not conflicting aims, but rather, support one another.
